Lake Elsinore Student Earns U.S. Academy Nomination: Rep. Calvert

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A Lake Elsinore student joins the Southwest Riverside County area class of 2026 nominees for U.S. service academies.

Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Corona) announced the students nominated from the 42nd Congressional District to attend the U.S. service academies. Of those, several have achieved nominations to more than one academy.

Calvert can nominate qualified young men and women from his district for an appointment to one or more academies whose graduates go on to serve in the Air Force, Navy, Army and Merchant Marine, his office said in a recent news release.
"These young men and women who I have nominated to the service academies have character, integrity, motivation and pride, and I am proud to nominate them," Calvert said. "I have no doubt that these students represent our region with honor and will serve our country well."
Each academy will evaluate the nominees based on their academic, athletic and physical qualifications. The best-qualified students will be offered an appointment.
Other area congressmen have also submitted candidates for review.
Calvert's candidates hail from high schools across his district, which includes Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Eastvale and Norco.
