Lake Elsinore's Strict Poppy Plans Help City Handle Fall Leaf Viewing
How Lake Elsinore handled visitors during the Super Bloom may be helping a few Vermont towns take a strong stance for fall foliage viewers.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The leaves are turning across the country, but too many visitors are ruining the vibe, according to towns across scenic Vermont. Efforts toward adding sheriff's deputies and road closed signs are underway, much as was done in Lake Elsinore during the Super Bloom.
Overcrowding, social media influencer-driven traffic, and tourists behaving badly have led Sleepy Hollow Farm to be close to visitors unless you can prove you're a resident. They are organizing to save the small roads that lead out to some of the prettiest fall destinations, according to a GoFundMe.
"As a community, the residents surrounding Cloudland Road have come together to work with the towns of Pomfret and Woodstock to bring peace, safety, and civility back to the families that live here," Glenn Morely, organizer of the fundraiser, wrote. Thus far, they have raised nearly $15,000 to fund this effort, though they remain about $10,000 shy of their goal, adding, "We require funding for sheriff deputies to man temporary closures and new increased signage."
