Murrieta Celebrates Opening of $10 Million Los Alamos Road Bridge
The overcrossing has been expanded to four lanes.

The city of Murrieta unveiled Monday the newly reconstructed Los Alamos freeway overcrossing.
The $10 million Los Alamos Road Overcrossing at I-15 Project completed work last week. The original overpass was demolished and replaced by a larger span to accommodate increased traffic flow.
“The existing bridge is being replaced because it doesn’t meet current State vertical clearance standards,” the city had said of the project before its completion. “The finished bridge will increase the width from two to four traffic lanes with pedestrian sidewalks on both sides.”

Among those in attendance at the ribbon cutting event Monday were Murrieta councilmembers Rick Gibbs, Randon Lane, Gene Wunderlich and Harry Ramos. Supervisor Jeff Stone, representatives from the Murrieta Fire Department, The California Highway Patrol and the Murrieta Economic Development Department were also on hand.
Last week, you may have noticed some closures on I-15 in the area, as construction crews wrapped up work on the project.
