Officer-Involved Shooting Reported In Lake Elsinore
BREAKING: Sheriff's officials say this is a separate incident from an ongoing SWAT scene in nearby Wildomar.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A man was shot during a confrontation with Riverside County sheriff's deputies in Lake Elsinore Thursday, the agency reports.
In a busy day for law enforcement in Southwest Riverside County, the shooting occurred around 4 p.m. in the area of Chaney Street and Collier Avenue, according to sheriff's officials. Few details regarding the incident were immediately available, but officials say it was a separate, unrelated case from a standoff scene that closed off a major thoroughfare in nearby Wildomar, about 10 miles away.
According to reports from the scene, the Elsinore suspect was wounded when he allegedly brandished a weapon. No deputies were injured.

The man was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar in unknown condition.
