Prostitution Sting Leads To 24 Arrests Of 'Johns': Lake Elsinore

The sting in Lake Elsinore was conducted Wednesday.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A prostitution sting conducted Wednesday by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department in Lake Elsinore netted 24 arrests of suspected "Johns."

The operation took place in an undisclosed part of the city with the intent "to send a clear and firm message that illicit criminal activities, to include the sex trafficking of women and children, are not welcome to operate within the city of Lake Elsinore, or anywhere else within the County of Riverside," according to a report from the sheriff's department.

The alleged Johns were snared after law enforcement placed decoy posts on several popular classified advertisement websites "commonly used for the solicitation of online prostitution," according to the department.
