RivCo Courts Add 2 New Judges To Fill Vacancies In Riverside, Indio
A Lake Forest Superior Court commissioner & a Corona-based corporate attorney were appointed to county judicial posts by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
CORONA, CA — A Riverside County Superior Court commissioner and a corporate attorney were appointed to county judicial posts, the governor's office announced Friday.
Mona Nemat, 46, of Corona was appointed to fill another vacancy stemming from a judge's retirement last year at the Riverside Juvenile Dependency Court in Riverside.
Nemat, a Democrat, has been a partner in the Corona-based law firm Brissman & Nemat for nearly a decade, and before then, was a partner at Riverside-based Best, Best & Krieger, which handles complex business and other cases throughout the region.

Walter Kubelun, 59, of Lake Forest was appointed to fill a vacancy resulting from a judge's retirement at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, officials said.
Kubelun, a Democrat, has been a Superior Court commissioner since 2007, prior to which he worked as a county deputy district attorney and a white-collar civil litigation specialist.

The annual compensation for each position is $225,074, according to the governor's office.
