RivCo Man Arrested, Booked For Murder

The 26-year-old victim died Tuesday from gunshot wounds, officials said.

MEAD VALLEY, CA – A Mead Valley man was arrested Tuesday on homicide charges, for allegedly gunning down and killing a 26-year-old from Perris, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies from the Perris station were called shortly before 8:30 p.m. to the 21700 block of Markham Street in Mead Valley where a male, later identified as Jacinto Placencia, was found suffering from several gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

Placencia was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, deputies said.

After receiving a call giving the location of the suspect, Arthur Laguna, 31, was found and arrested on the 20200 block of Hunter St. in Mead Valley, according to the department, adding that "there are no outstanding suspects at this time."

Laguna was arrested for suspicion of murder and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
