Help Murrieta Parents Through Child's 'Nightmare' Illness
"We know when he wakes up, he is going to be so comforted knowing you all cared," wrote family of Gavin Gantt, 15, stricken by infection.

MURRIETA, CA – Fifteen-year-old Gavin Gantt, a Murrieta Valley High School student, is battling Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus -- in short, a "super-bug" infection caused by a type of staph bacteria -- and the community is rallying to support his family.
"Thank you for loving us through this entire nightmare. ... Our 15-year-old son, Gavin, is in the fight of his life battling MRSA. He has already shown victory over a brain tumor when he was 10, and now in time he will shine victory over this. Family and water polo are Gavin's life," the family wrote on their son's Go Fund Me page.
"This is extremely hard for our family to do. ... We are not ones to ask for assistance. But we are currently feeling as if we are out of options. Our son is very sick, vacation time-off is dwindling and medical bills are expected to be substantial.
"We know when he wakes up he is going to be so comforted knowing you all cared. Please continue to keep our boy in your thoughts. We need prayers now more than ever.If you are following his journey in pure support, but do not personally know us ... we love that too!"
