Second 'Clean LE' Event Happening July 11, Volunteers Sought

LAKE ELSINORE, CA – Lake Elsinore officials are now recruiting for the second installment of this summer's "Clean LE" initiative. On July 11, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., local volunteers will join in on the cleanup efforts at Machado Park.

"This summer, the City of Lake Elsinore launched the Clean LE Team to engage local volunteers who love where they live to join in our efforts to keep Lake Elsinore clean, beautiful and litter-free," the city says.

Over the course of the next five weeks, one event is planned weekly around town to remove litter and recyclables along high profile roadways and nearby parks.

Here's more on the event, via the city:

• Date: Tuesday, July 11
• Time: 8 a.m. check-in, Litter Pickup from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Location: Machado Park 15150 Joy Street Lake Elsinore, California 92530

The Clean LE Litter Pick Up Event #2 will take place on and around Lakeshore Dr. and Machado St. Volunteers are welcome to just come the morning of ready to serve.

Key Areas for Clean Up (in order of priority):

1. Machado Park – Particularly Parking Lot and Pedestrian Pathways
2. Sidewalk and Parkways – Machado St. to Lakeshore Dr.
3. Sidewalk and Parkways – Machado St. to Lincoln St.
4. Sidewalk and Parkways - Lakeshore Dr. to Riverside Dr. (4 Corners area).
5. Sidewalk and Parkways – Lakeshore Dr. to Lake St. (to Terra Cotta Middle School)

All cleanups will take place on sidewalk areas, volunteers will be reminded to use crosswalks to cross all roadways. City staff will be present at every event to monitor, provide water and ensure the safety of our valued volunteers. Appropriate safety signage will also be posted. All volunteers will be broken up into small groups to clean up key areas in order of priority based on the number of participants.
