Suspect in Corona Double Homicide in Custody After Pursuit

A man suspected of fatally shooting two men and wounding a third inside a Corona home was arrested Friday following a short car and foot chase.
The suspect, 22-year-old Brandon Willie Martin, was arrested shortly after jumping from a second-story window of a home in the 800 block of Darby Street, according to Corona police.
He is suspected in the killing of two men whose bodies were found around 6:35 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Winthrop Drive. A third man was found wounded and taken to a hospital.

Corona police set up a perimeter this morning near Buena Vista and Highgrove Street after officers spotted a vehicle believed to be related to the killings. The suspect in the vehicle fled from officers who tried to pull him over, and he eventually fled on foot and into the neighborhood.
Sgt. Paul Mercado told ABC7 that Martin was jumping over fences and eventually ran into a home, where a woman inside was taking a shower. She was not injured.

Martin was spotted in a second-story window, from which he ultimately jumped and was taken into custody, Mercado told the station.
The names of the men wounded in Thursday’s shooting have not been released. Neighbors told reporters at the scene that a man apparently shot his father and uncle in the home, along with a security-system repairman. Police said the hospitalized victim had life-threatening injuries.
