TRAFFIC ALERT: Full Closure on 91 Happening This Week
The east- and westbound sides of the 91 will be shut down in Corona.

CORONA, CA - Both sides of the Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona will be completely closed to traffic during the overnight hours Wednesday and Thursday to facilitate work on an overpass, with a series of partial shutdowns also planned beginning Tuesday.
The east- and westbound sides of the 91 will be shut down at Maple Street both nights as crews replace support beams and make other modifications to the Maple Street bridge, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
Only the eastbound 91 was closed Tuesday, beginning at 10 p.m., and was scheduled to reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. Wednesday, RCTC officials said.

The full freeway closures are scheduled from roughly 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Partial closures affecting the westbound 91 only will continue Friday and Saturday, with additional overnight closures planned on that side of the freeway all next week, according to the RCTC.

Motorists attempting to transit the eastbound 91 during the shutdown will be detoured onto Paseo Grande and re-enter the freeway at the next available on-ramp.
Motorists attempting to transit the westbound 91 will be detoured onto Maple, then Pomona Road and finally Serfas Club Drive, where they will be able to re-enter the 91.
The work is part of the $1.3 billion "91 Project Fast Forward," which got underway in early 2014. The project involves widening the east-west corridor between the Orange County line and Interstate 15, with new traffic lanes and ramps, as well as additional shoulder space and expanded surface streets in the vicinity of the freeway. The project is slated for completion sometime next year.
