TRAFFIC ALERT: Several I-15/SR-91 Closures Planned This Week

Though the new express lanes are open most of the time, work on the project continues.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A week of partial road, ramp and connector closures begins Monday on parts of the 91 Freeway and Interstate 15. The night-time closures are part of the ongoing Riverside County Transportation Commission's (RCTC) 91 Project, which is expected to continue throughout the fall. Detour signs will be posted for many of the following closures, but drivers are advised to allow for extra travel time:

CONNECTOR CLOSURES

  • Southbound 15 to Westbound 91: Sept. 25 from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
  • Northbound 15 to Westbound 91: Sept. 25 from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
  • Eastbound 91 to Southbound 15: Sept. 26-28 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly
  • Eastbound 91 to Northbound 15: Sept. 26-28 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly

RAMP CLOSURES

  • Westbound 91 Main Street On-Ramp: Sept. 25 from 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. (use westbound Lincoln Avenue on-ramp)
  • Westbound 91 Main Street Off-Ramp: Sept. 25 from 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. (use westbound Lincoln Avenue off-ramp)
  • Eastbound 91 Main Street On-Ramp: Sept. 26-28 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly (use eastbound Lincoln Avenue on-ramp)
  • Eastbound 91 Main Street Off-Ramp: Sept. 26-28 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly (use eastbound Lincoln Avenue off-ramp)

LANE CLOSURES

  • Westbound 91: right two lanes between Main Street and Buena Vista, Sept. 25 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Eastbound 91: two right lanes between Buena Vista and 15/91 Interchange, Sept. 26-28 from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly

STREET ACTIVITIES

  • McKinley Street: lane closures between 91 ramps on Sept. 30 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. (at least one lane will be open in each direction)
  • Yorba Street and Pleasant View Avenue: street closures and no parking for paving activities, Sept. 30 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Prado Road: lane closure at 91 bridge, Sept. 30 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional night-time closures are occurring for RCTC's I-15 Express Lanes Project. Unless otherwise noted, the 91 Express Lanes will remain open during other roadway closures. The schedule is subject to change based on weather, field conditions or other operational factors.
