Vision For Historic Downtown Lake Elsinore: Public Can Weigh In
The public is invited to attend a meeting and two workshops jointly hosted by the city and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The City of Lake Elsinore is working on an action plan for Historic Downtown and is seeking participation from local residents and stakeholders.
A public meeting and two work sessions, all virtual, are scheduled beginning September 1.
The city announced it received a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the plan. Rather than direct dollars, the EPA is providing technical consulting services to Lake Elsinore for research, workshops and plan development, according to city spokesperson Nicole Dailey. The federal program is called EPA Building Blocks; see a full list of communities selected for 2021 here.

The upcoming meeting and workshops will focus on "leveraging our Cultural Anchor Institutions in the community including exploring ways that arts, culture, and tourism contribute to creative placemaking, economic development and community revitalization," the city said in a news release.
Cultural Anchor Institutions include for-profit arts organizations or businesses; not-for-profit arts organizations; cultural facilities like libraries, historical sites, theatres, galleries, and museums; annual events and festivals; local recreational assets or points of interest and more, the city said.
