Pair Arrested For Alleged Coinstar Fraud

The female suspect was attempting to use a fraudulently altered Coinstar receipt to receive more cash than receipt was worth: officials.

NORCO,CA — After responding to a Coinstar fraud complaint at a company earlier this month in Norco, deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department arrested two individuals on fraud- and forgery-related charges, according to authorities.

Norco station responded to a forgery report Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. at a business on the 2400 block of River Road in Norco, where investigators said a video showed a suspect, 30-year-old Giana Bruneio, of Pomona, allegedly attempting to use a fraudulently altered Coinstar receipt to receive more cash than the receipt was worth, deputies said.

The video also showed the woman arrived in a vehicle with an accomplice, identified as 26-year-old Wesley Wooten, also of Pomona, according to the Norco Special Enforcement Team.

Criminal evidence subsequently was obtained from the the suspects' residence, the agency said.

Both individuals were arrested and booked on charges related to suspicion of fraud. Bruneio’s bail was set at $20,000, with Wooten’s bail at $50,000, deputies said.
