3 Days Left! Batteries for Birds Campaign Helps Feed Local Families
The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest is donating 100% of all watch battery revenues to South County Outreach for 3 more days! Help feed local kids

“Orange County is more diverse than many people realize,” said Jack Levenson, co-owner of The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest. “While we’re home to some of the nation’s most affluent communities, we also have plenty of people who are struggling to make ends meet.”
South County Outreach, the Irvine food pantry which distributes nearly one million pounds of food annually in an effort to make sure no one goes hungry, has seen demand for their services increase steadily. More and more people are finding themselves in situations where they don’t have enough to eat.
“We’re determined to help make that situation better, as best we can,” says Christine Anzell, co-owner of The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest. “That why every year at this time, we host the Batteries for Birds campaign.” During the campaign, 100% of the proceeds from watch battery sales is donated to South County Outreach, which uses the funds to provide holiday food for needy families. “Last year, we raised over $2,100. We have three days left, and we’re hoping to top that amount!”
