Comic Quest is providing FREE demos of a fun board game. Learn in a couple of minutes, it might be your next favorite game.
Plus, a discount on the game all day!
Your goal in DNUP is to empty your hand of cards.
Each player starts with eight or ten cards in hand, with each card having different numbers (from 1-10) at top and bottom, e.g. 1 and 7. Pick up all your cards at once; you can rearrange cards from left to right at any time, but you can't revolve them. On a turn, first discard any cards on the table in front of you, then you can:
1. Play cards from your hand. 
2. Add one card to the table. 
3. Take cards from the table. 
4. Revolve all cards in your hand.
When you play cards, you can play one or more cards of the same value — but if you play as many cards as another player has in front of them, your cards must be of higher value. If you overplay someone, e.g. playing two 5s when they have two 2s, they must revolve their cards, then return them to their hand

We are hosting a small, hands-on cooking class focused on the art of "Ichiju Sansai" — the traditional Japanese breakfast balanced for energy and gut health.
We’ll be using Koji (authentic fermentation culture) to create a meal that is gentle on digestion but packed with Umami flavor. If you want to learn how to prepare a wholesome, healing meal from scratch, come cook with me! 🍚🐟
No experience needed — we cook, have fun, and eat together! 
Participants will:

Cook multiple dishes using Koji-based techniques

🍱 MENU — All Gut-Friendly, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Fermentation-Focused
1. Miso Soup with Traditional Awase Dashi: A soothing miso soup made with kombu &amp; dried bonito flakes dashi, finished with spinach and mushrooms. 
 
2. Dashi-Maki Tamago (Japanese Rolled Omelet): Fluffy rolled egg seasoned with dashi &amp; koji seasonings, served with grated daikon and soy sauce koji. 
 
3. Steamed Salt-Koji Salmon with Shiso: Tender, umami-rich salmon marinated in salt koji and gently steamed for maximum nutrition and flavor. 
 
4. Steamed Haiga-Mai Rice (served, not cooked in class) : A nourishing, fiber-rich Japanese rice served alongside the meal. 
 
5. Koji Amazake (served, not cooked in class) : A naturally sweet, fermented koji drink topped with optional matcha.

A Koji Basics Workshop&nbsp;will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 1:00 PM at Taste Eatery in Lake Forest, focusing on learning how to make Koji-based seasonings and the power of Japanese fermentation.
Discover Koji, the fermentation culture behind Japanese cuisine. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make your own seasonings and take home over $27 worth of koji-based products. Experience how fermentation enhances flavor and nutrition through guided tastings and demos. Your creations will finish fermenting at home, with the knowledge and confidence to use them daily.
This class is open to ages 14+; participants 17 and under must attend with an adult.
