Always drama in the LFC

Here is another edition of Comedy Sportz, I mean a recap of the last City Council meeting on January 15th.

Our latest Comedy Sportz episode of the Lake Forest Council meeting was brazenly alarming. If you don’t know what comedy sportz is, it’s basically an improvisational comedy organization where two “teams” compete against one another and perform a series of scenes with the audience.

The “skit” of January 15th was an interesting one to watch as it was not two sided, but really a one-sided scene from two individuals during public comment, their names being Andy O’Connor and Jim Gardner. I will not go into Jim’s comments because I think it more important to focus on the stranger comments of Andy O’Connor.

That evening, O’Connor comes up to the podium and passes out some sort of typed up document that appears to have his own curated claims of injustice on newly elected council members Neeki Moatazedi, Mark Tettemer and Scott Voigts. He left Leah Basile unscathed in his attacks, which is an interesting omission. Although I would like to go through everything that was mentioned I think it’s oddly poignant that he singled out Neeki, which to me as a woman, is concerning behavior. Although I try to stay above the “fray”I felt compelled to seek the truth for the sake of making O’Connor aware of his misfeasance or downright abuse of public comments. The list below is some of Andy’ major accusations against Neeki:

• -Neeki’s claims of an Emmy accolade were false
  • Fact check: I investigated this, and it’s easy to see she posted a photo of her holding the recognition in her hands. So, this claim can be refuted.
• -O’Connor’s comment of how he knows it to be impossible that she commutes from Lake Forest to Downtown Los Angeles. He cites that she indeed works in Downtown Los Angeles (he called her office apparently 4 or 5 times leaving unusual messages), but it’s also because she owns a warehouse and a condo in Los Angeles
  • Fact check: I looked through the county clerk recorder’s office records for this, and nothing comes up. Totally false accusation.
• -He appears to be really concerned with her whereabouts, and he inquired about her with her neighbors
  • Fact check: I see her at local events and in the neighborhood. She also had a social media presence, but unfortunately it looks like she has tamped that down, probably due to this instance

Regarding Mark:

• -He uses his middle name and that should be grounds for? Not sure where he was going with this one
  • Fact check: Mark is Mark’s middle name, and it’s common for people to go by their middle name. Certainly, Andy, as a former school teacher he should know that.
• -Another issue was that Mark works at a water district and has for many years
  • Fact check: Okay who cares? Seems to be some non-coherent nonsensical issue

On Scott he claims:

• -Scott didn’t graduate college, just High School
  • Fact check: I didn’t fact check this, mostly because as I type this out I realize how stupid these accusations are, and to get my I.Q. on “their” level is hard to do

As you can see, everything he stated is easily refutable with a few simple searches and phone calls to the appropriate agencies.

I hope this behavior is episodic and will not continue. It’s downright abusive towards our public servants and frankly I am embarrassed that retired men are acting this way. Like two baboons acting out some sort of skit they think will play out well. It’s not playing out favorably anywhere but in their minds. It must stop and I’m tired of hearing their false ranting and raving. I hope we can just all ignore them, so they will go away, and that includes council members ignoring them as well. Here is to hoping for peace, now that our council is peaceful, the tide of fake posturing is still high with some the constituents. Always drama in the LFC.
