Apartment Fire Causes Evacuation In Irvine

A bathroom fire sparked this Kazan Street Apartment evacuation in an apartment building.

IRVINE, CA — A bathroom fire sparked an evacuation to an Irvine apartment building on Friday, Orange County Fire Authority said. OCFA firefighters quickly doused the blaze.

The fire broke out about 1 p.m. in the 100 block of Kazan Street, and was under control within 15 minutes, said OCFA Capt. Stephen Horner.

"A total of 22-firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority arrived," Horner said. "Firefighters traced the blaze's origin to a bathroom in one of the apartments."

No one was injured, but four units had to be evacuated, Horner said. The cause was accidental, according to Horner.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
