Body Found Inside Abandoned Moving Truck In Fullerton

Workers discovered the human remains, wrapped in plastic and cardboard, inside the back of a U-Haul truck this week.

FULLERTON, CA — Area homicide detectives are striving to solve the mystery of a body found inside a moving truck Wednesday afternoon.

The body, discovered wrapped in plastic and cardboard, was found in an abandoned U-Haul moving truck in Fullerton.

Anaheim police took over the investigation, as that was the last known location of the moving truck, Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer said.

The abandoned truck was taken to the U-Haul company's Fullerton location at Orangethorpe and State College Boulevard, as per protocol, so that U-Haul employees could inventory the items left inside, according to Carringer.

The employees conducting that inventory process came across the body and called Fullerton police midday, Wednesday, the sergeant said. As the truck originated in Anaheim, Anaheim police took over the investigation.

The date of the rental was not made known as of this report.

Investigators have deemed it a "suspicious death" at this point, Carringer said.

Due to decomposition, the victim's age and gender were not immediately known. According to Carringer, "whether or not it is a homicide is still to be determined."
