Mother and Son Identified in Irvine Murder-Suicide
A mother and son were found shot to death in the Turtle Rock Community, of Irvine, near the Lake Forest area in an apparent murder/suicide.

IRVINE, CA—The Irvine Police Department released an update this morning regarding yesterday's death investigation.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that the decedents were mother and son," the department stated in a Facebook release. "Evidence at the scene suggests that the son shot his mother, and then turned the gun on himself."
They were identified as 27-year-old Ryan Cj Yau and 64-year-old Polly Chao Yau.

Detectives recovered a handgun in close proximity to the scene, according to the report. No other injuries were reported in this case.
"There remains no indication of an outstanding suspect or danger to the surrounding community," the report stated.

Circumstances which led to the shooting remain unknown and are still being investigated by Irvine Police Department detectives, according to the statement.

Two people in Irvine's Turtle Rock area were reported deceased today by gunshot wounds, according to the Irvine Police department.
"The Irvine Police Department is conducting a death investigation at a residence," they stated over a Facebook release.
On August 24, 2016, just before 12:30 p.m., Irvine Police Department officers responded to a call of two individuals down inside a residence on Hexham in the Turtle Rock Community with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
"When Irvine Police Department officers arrived they located two adult individuals, a male and female, deceased," the report stated.
The investigation is ongoing and the identities of the deceased individuals will not be released until the Coroner’s office is able to contact next of kin.
"At this time, there is no indication of an outstanding suspect or danger to the surrounding community," the report stated.
