BREAST CANCER SOLUTIONS (BCS) is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Oct 11, from 5:30 to 8 pm at Sun and Sail Club. The deadline for purchasing tickets to the event, Celebrate Solutions, is September 21. Click Here.
BCS originally came into existence in order to help women who were homeless and unable to get treatment due to a lack of a permanent address. Over the years, BCS expanded its range of services to include financial assistance for living expenses and out of pocket medical costs, as well as extensive community resource navigation and professional mental health support. Over 4,200 clients have been served since 1998.

BCS has ties to Lake Forest. My wife and I have been involved with BCS nearly since inception. My wife served on the Board and I was involved in fund raising and grant writing. In the first few years, we often used our house for an annual Christmas party.
The organization’s founder is Heather Gilbert (See Photo), a long-time Lake Forest resident. Jennifer Anderson, another long-time resident, serves as the current Executive Director.
