Magazine Fire Sparked At FBI Training Facility In Orange County

The blaze has burned four acres as of 4 p.m. BREAKING

LAKE FOREST, CA — Forward progress has stopped on a 3.5-acre wildfire burning in Orange County, according to Orange County Fire Authority.

The blaze, which began at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, started at the FBI training facility off of Magazine Road. By 4 p.m., forward progress on the fire was halted, OCFA said.

"There is one small structure that is threatened by the fire, but there have been no evacuations ordered at this time," OCFA Captain Larry Kurtz said.

One helicopter was in-bound as of 3:45 p.m. to battle the blaze from the air.

The skies blackened with smoke Monday afternoon from a brush fire near Magazine Road.

"Orange County Fire Authority is on scene of a three acre brush fire," OCFA Captain Larry Kurtz said. "35 firefighters are on the scene and additional units were arriving as of 3:30 p.m.

The fire, known as the #MagazineFire on Twitter, which had burned approximately one-quarter acre as of 3:30 p.m. bloomed to 3.5 acres by 3:45 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
