Here’s what happened at the City Council meeting last week.
CDBG GRANTS
CDBG proposal was advanced unchanged. It will now be noticed for 30 days and then brought back to the Council for final decision. People may comment at any time during the 30 days and/or at the second Council meeting in April when it comes to the agenda.

TRAFFIC STUDIES
The Council endorsed the proposals for Palmwood and Osterman (Click Here). In addition the Council discussed the problems with street sweeping city-wide. We are considering (a) contracting with Mission Viejo for street sweeping for both cities to lower costs, (b) changes to the signing policies, and (c) adding enforcement through a third-party contract as is done in other cities. Mayor Pro Tem Basile and I are working on this issue with staff.
APPOINTING COMMISSIONERS
The Council approved the change to the appointment process. The new system will be adopted for the Traffic and Planning Commission which we expect to be operational by July.

Due to the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Basile, the censure discussion of Councilman Voigts was postponed until the April 4 meeting.
