July 6 - SHOP & DINE

Shop and Dine Lake Forest encourages local residents and employees to support local retailers and businesses. The City partners with Lake Forest businesses to offer discounts and promotions to encourage residents and local employees to shop or dine at participating restaurants, professional services, or retail shops. Last year's coupon booklet featured over 400 coupons from participating Lake Forest businesses.

In 2018, the Shop and Dine Lake Forest Program is being extended from a week-long celebration of local businesses to a full month, taking place September 1st - 30th and will feature the 7th annual Taste of Lake Forest on Saturday, September 29th.

August 23 – NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE PAINT PROGRAM

The annual Neighborhood Pride Paint Program is designed to assist qualified homeowners with painting the exterior of their homes. The project is funded by the City’s Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. In previous years, the City funded the painting of over 100 owner-occupied homes. This year, we are once again looking for qualified homeowners who are interested in participating in this program and having the exterior of their homes painted.

The City will select a number of owner-occupied homes by lottery to be recipients of this year’s Neighborhood Pride Paint Program grants based on need. Due to funding constraints, the number of homes selected to participate in this program will be limited. A paint contractor will be selected to paint each home. To qualify: (1) Properties must be owner-occupied; (2) Homeowners must income-qualify by not exceeding the income limits by household size as stated on the chart below for the previous two tax years and the current year applying to the program; (3) The home must be in need of painting; (4) The existing exterior paint must be lead-free; and (5) The homeowner’s assets cannot exceed $120,000 (not including homeowner’s primary residence). Prior to acceptance, homes will be tested to determine if lead-based paint is present on the exterior of the home.

If you are interested in participating in this year’s paint program, please download and fill out an application and return the application to the City of Lake Forest, Attention: Theresa Dobbs, 25550 Commercentre Drive, Suite 100, Lake Forest, CA 92630.
