Comedy Troupe Dedicates Performance to Injured Classmate
El Toro High's Comedy Sportz takes on the school's Associated Student Body in an improv challenge, with half the night's proceeds going to classmate Jimmy Pequeno.
The final score showed that El Toro High's Associated Student Body rallied in the second half to upset Comedy Sportz, a group of performance arts students, at its monthly improvisional challenge Thursday night at Charger Hall.
But the real winner was a classmate who continues to beat the odds.
Half of the proceeds for the night--$800--will be donated to 18-year-old Jimmy Pequeno, an El Toro senior who was on Santiago Canyon Road. The money will go to the Pequeno family, who still face mounting medical bills and the cost of their remodeled that was completed before .

Nicole Patteson, Jimmy's girlfriend since the eighth grade who has devoted herself to raising the money needed for Jimmy, attended the performance and thanked the crowd of 160 during halftime.
"This is the first time we've donated half the proceeds to Jimmy, and it's for a really good cause," said Dan Blackley, El Toro's drama and theater teacher.

The players for the ASB included (first half) Griffin Carrol, Gabby Gregory, Jason Cruz and Leslie Alvarado; (second half) Josh Santos, Tasha Bass, Caleb Ostgaard and Lauren Meyering.
For the CSzTeam, the players were (first half) Adam "one-in-a" Milligan, Emily Adamiah "Attack", Cole "Baby Cakes" Peolquin, and Kathryn "Wild Thing" King; (second half) Nicole "Charger Hall" as, Kayla Green "Bean," Aimee "Peaches and" Pearson and Kristina "Steeny" Meyering.
The next ComedySportz performance will be May 25 at Charger Hall.
