Cox Charities to Award $50,000 in Grants to Orange County and Palos Verdes Non-profit Organizations

Grants to support initiatives that focus on youth, education, conservation and the military.

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. – Cox Charities will award $50,000 in grants to Orange County and Palos Verdes non-profit organizations to support initiatives that focus on youth, education, conservation and the military. Applications are currently being accepted online and must be submitted by Aug. 31, 2016.

The Cox Charities Advisory Board, made up of Cox employee volunteers, will consider requests up to $5,000. An additional $5,000 will be awarded to the organization with the most votes and retweets in an online and Twitter public voting campaign that will run in mid-October 2016.

In 2015, Cox Cares awarded grants to 13 Orange County non-profit organizations. Special Olympics Orange County tallied the most votes and received an additional $5,000.

In order to apply, organizations must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization;
  • Be located or provide services in Orange County and Palos Verdes;
  • Show measurable results from the program and complete a post grant evaluation form;
  • Provide information on program outreach components including website and social media.
