Cox Premieres AR Photo Experience at Angels Home Opener

Fans to receive a virtual greeting from current and past Angels players

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. – With the start of baseball season, many baseball organizations around the country look to enhance the fan experience with a variety of new activities and technology at the ballpark. At Angel Stadium, Cox Communications (Cox) and the Los Angeles Angels are showcasing the latest in Augmented-Reality for baseball fans.

In the Right Field Pavilion (Section 237), Cox and the Angels will premiere the “Cox Virtual Meet and Greet Photo Experience” on Angels Opening Day. In this experience, the fan receives a virtual greeting from Keynan Middleton, Martin Maldanado, Garrett Richards and/or Tim Salmon. This is followed with an opportunity to pose for a digital photograph with the player, and the fan will receive the photo by email and share on various social media outlets.

“This is the first Virtual Meet and Greet Photo Experience at any major league ballpark,” said Mika Gukharbakiyeva, Cox Events Marketing Specialist. “It’s a showcase of how we are using technology to enhance the fan and customer experience.”
