Dermatologist Suspected Of Poisoning Husband, Irvine Police Say
The Mission Viejo Dermatologist was caught on camera poisoning her husband in their Irvine home, police say.

LAKE FOREST, CA —A Mission Viejo dermatologist was behind bars Friday on suspicion of poisoning her husband at their Irvine home, police said.
Dr. Yue Yu was arrested Thursday evening, according to Irvine police Lt. Bill Bingham.
The husband, who was not named, suffered "significant internal injuries but is expected to recover. He suspected he was being poisoned by his wife, Bingham said.

The dermatologist and her husband became suspicious after being ill for more than a month. As his suspicions grew, he set up surveillance video and sent it to police, Bingham said. The contents of that video were not yet shared with the media, but officials did arrest Yu after reviewing its contents.
Yu remained in custody overnight and into Friday. No court appearances have yet been set.

It is believed she was freed on a $30,000 bond late Friday.
Providence Mission Hospital, where Yu has privileges, issued a statement regarding the arrest. They stated they were aware of the arrest that was made on Thursday and are cooperating fully with the Irvine Police Department.
"This incident is a domestic matter which occurred in Irvine," a Mission Hospital spokesperson wrote. "We want to reassure our community that there has been no impact on our patients."
