Diary of a Charger: 'What If?' Week Coming Up at El Toro
El Toro High water polo player Emily Browning shares her journal entry for the week ending April 2.

Just another week of being a teenager!
It started Sunday, when my club team had a scrimmage against the club team from Commerce. They are one of the top clubs out there and it was a good opportunity to play against them. I thought we all played very well and if we can play good against them, we can end up winning some big tournaments coming up. I always enjoy how our coach has a different John Wooden quote for the week of our practices. They seem to help me out when things are going rough at practice. For club, since I am not doing swim team at high school, I go to the pool on days we don't have practice just to say in top shape.
At school my team lost in our dodgeball game on Monday, which disqualified us from the tournament, sadly. I just love being the shield on our team! Today was the finals and one team was finally named dodgeball champions.
It is getting the time for students to decide what classes they are going to take next year. ASB elections will be in a month and most of my friends are running, so it will be hard to chose who to vote for. But for me I am thinking about doing the film class Bulls-eye. I really like making and editing videos and I think that class will be a fun challenge. But first I have to be chosen from others to be in that class, and I am hoping I will be in it! For now I am just counting down the days for spring break to stop studying and start going to the beach!
Coming up next week at school is the "What if?" week. Each day will represent a new "What if?" question, such as "What if bullying stopped?" I think this will be a good opportunity for our school to raise awareness to stop bullying, stop texting while driving, and just to be nice to everyone. Today they showed a video of other classmates sharing their stories about either what they felt insecure about or problems they having, even though they walk around with a smile on their faces. The video was very sad because most of the people who were in it I didn't expect would be hiding stuff. I am hoping that this video will let people realize that they shouldn't judge people because they don't know what is really going on in their lives.
Thanks for reading!
Emily
