Disney California Adventure Summer Of Heroes Wants You!

This summer at Disney California Adventure Marvel heroes will be out in force with the Avengers Training Initiative. Its food, folks & fun!

DISNEYLAND, CA — It's summer at Disney California Adventure, and time for you to bring the kiddos out to play, train and experience what it means to be a hero.

"Guests of the park will experience more fun than ever this summer," a Disney spokesperson said. "There will be special entertainment, and limited-time experiences to thrill guests of all ages as some of your favorite super hero stories come to life in Hollywood land."

Walking through Hollywood Land, look for new photo opportunities with the likes of Spider-man and Captain America.

"Your friendly neighborhood web slinger will see nods to New York City and features about the Daily Bugle, the newspaper where Peter Parker is a photographer," he said.

Captain America, often thought of as the first Avenger and the face of the Avenger's Training Initiative campaign, has a special shield made of "vibranium" that guests may or may not help him hold.

"Guests can find Captain America outside a New York Police Station decked out in red, white and blue bunting," he said.

If you choose to send your little one to take part in the latest in training "Avenger's Training Initiative," they can see if they have the stuff to be one of Earth's mightiest heroes.

"Young Avengers will learn defensive and attack maneuvers to defeat the villain 'Arnim Zola,' known by Captain America fans from the evil Hydra organization," he said.

Keep your eyes peeled for Hawkeye and Black Widow, as well as Tony Stark who makes an appearance in a video during training. Field agents Special Agent Cabe and Tech Specialist Agent Crosby are also involved, assisting the Avengers with training opps.

There will be a plethora of opportunities to see these characters around the park, as well as to enjoy heroic themed foods and beverages.

Find new dishes at Schmoozies, Award Wieners and Market Place including:

This angry little pudding cup is delightful, with chocolate pudding, crumbled chocolate sandwich cookie, whipped cream and funnel cake fries. Scrumptious!
New merchandise can be found across the park and at the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout! ride. Take home baby Groot, Howard the Duck, Cosmo, Rocket and more. Also, look for 70s retro fonts and graphics to deck out shirts and other items as well as find retro 70s and 80s toys and mini arcade games.

Pin traders, be sure and look for eight new Super Hero-inspired trading pins! But, most of all, remember that this Summer of Heroes, Captain America wants you to come to Disney California Adventure. And who can say no to that?
