Disruptive Amtrak Passenger Arrested: Cops

Authorities say that the passenger, possibly armed with some sort of weapon, refused to exit the train when ordered.

FULLERTON, CA — A "disruptive" Amtrak train passenger was arrested in Fullerton Monday, police reported.

Police were called just before 1:40 p.m. regarding a passenger "refusing to get off the train," said Fullerton police Sgt. Carin Wright. According to reports, Fullerton Police arrived at the scene where a man, possibly armed with an ax, refused to exit the train.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken into custody shortly before 3 p.m. at the train station at 120 E. Santa Fe Ave., Wright said.

Trains at the station were temporarily stopped due to the police activity as of 2:30 p.m. An hour later, train 777 was reported as headed towards its intended destination, an Amtrak spokesperson told Patch. The train was delayed for a total of 40 minutes.
