Dr. Ramin Baschshi is UCP of Orange County's New CEO

UCP of Orange County Names Lake Forest Resident Ramin Baschshi, M.D. as New CEO

UCP of Orange County’s (UCP-OC) Board of Directors announces Dr. Ramin Baschshi as their new President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 2, 2018. The nonprofit provides comprehensive services to more than 5,300 children and families affected by developmental disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Ramin’s background and experience join UCP-OC,” shared James Corbett, Chairman of the Board. “Her medical training connects to the lives and needs of our families and their children, her strategic leadership experience at Memorial Care provides great insight into program development to serve families, and her fundraising experience at Make-a-Wish allows her to bring strong philanthropic management experience to our organization. We could not be more pleased!”

Ramin Baschshi, M.D., has served as Chief Operating Officer of Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles since June 2010. During her tenure, she transformed the wish granting process, financials, operational management and board development during the Chapter’s rebirth.

Upon the appointment, Baschshi said, “I am humbled and honored to be representing an organization that ensures a child’s true potential while strengthening the family unit. My commitment is to enhance and create opportunities for UCP-OC to become a premier charity in our community, while increasing referrals and support services.”

Baschshi is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Xavier University School of Medicine in 2008. She earlier earned Bachelors of Science degrees in Biology at California State University, Fullerton in 1999 and Medical Science at the University of Sint Eustatius in 2003. She lives in Lake Forest with her husband and three children.

Founded in 1953, UCP-OC was originally established to assist individuals of all ages affected by cerebral palsy.
