Elderly Couple Found Dead In Lake Forest Home, Investigation Underway
Orange County sheriff's investigators were working Thursday to figure out the circumstances leading to the deaths of the man and woman.
LAKE FOREST, CA — An elderly couple was found dead in a Lake Forest home Tuesday, and Orange County sheriff's investigators were working to figure out the circumstances behind the fatalities Thursday.
Deputies were sent to a home in the 22000 block of Bywater Road at around 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, Orange County sheriff's Sgt. Scott Steinle said.
Once arriving, the deputies found the bodies of 89-year-old Monica Engel and 86-year-old Irving Engel. According to authorities, there were signs of violence, and investigators are still working to figure out the cause of death.

The man's death was confirmed as suicide, Steinle said.
