Yesterday the City of Lake Forest held another in a series of excellent workshops designed to help businesses. Co-sponsored by SCORE, the title was “Avoiding Employment Related Litigation” and the workshop leader was attorney Allyson Thompson from Kring & Chung (Irvine). Not only was the workshop FREE, the City provided some good food from Pick Up Stix.
Unfortunately only 5 of the 30 attendees were from Lake Forest. But for everyone, the workshop was an eye opener, and Mrs. Thompson was flooded with more questions that she had time to answer. She covered –
- · New laws
- · Hiring Employees
- · Employee Handbooks
- · Wage and Hour Issues
- · Handling Complaints
- · Wrongful Termination
Her discussions were chock full of golden nuggets to help you avoid being sued.
