Enjoy “Spain to Morocco: A Journey of Taste and Flavors" at the Clay Oven in Irvine!

Chef Geeta Bansal, owner of OC’s top Indian restaurant, Clay Oven in Irvine, will debut a series of monthly multi-course dinners inspired by her travels, cooking experiences, dining adventures around the globe and private interviews with the world’s most decorated chefs and sommeliers. The first dinner in the series, “Spain to Morocco: A Journey of Taste and Flavors,” will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m.; reservations must be made no later than March 3. Bansal says that the themes for the dinners come as the result of her interactions with these leading chefs, many of whom are her friends. She has nabbed exclusive interviews with such luminaries as Joel Robuchon, Rene Redzepi, Albert Adria and many of them can be found on www.ChefGeeta.Wordpress.com. To keep up with emerging food trends, last year alone she attended Mesamerica in Mexico, MAD 3 in Copenhagen, Mistura in Lima, Gastronomika in Spain, among other venues.

Her inaugural dinner, “Spain to Morocco: A Journey of Taste and Flavors,” will feature 4 courses and will offer guests “a peek into the aromatic food culture of this region.”

“The Moors took exotic spices into Spain resulting in a cross exchange of flavors and products evident in Malaga, Granada and the environs across the Strait of Gibraltar,” said Bansal. “The traditional Moroccan kitchen is heavily influenced by spices from India as are the culinary traditions of these countries. I hope to create an unforgettable meal that takes guests on a journey to these exotic regions.”

The dinner is $65 per person with optional wine pairing for $30.
Bansal's food reflects her mastery of classic Indian cuisine with a modern spin. Clay Oven is located at 15435 Jeffrey Road, Irvine, CA 92618. Visit www.clayovenirvine.com. Call (949)-552-2851 for more information.
