Here's a few events in September

Sept 4 - Office Hours (4:00, City Hall)

Come by and say hello. Check first. Sometimes things change.

Sept 4 - City Council Meeting (6:30, City Hall)

You can come to the City Hall or you can participate online. Lake Forest is the only city in the U.S. that allows people to participate fully in City Council meetings from the comfort of their home.

Sept 5 – Leadership Academy Begins (6 pm, City Hall)

This 8 week course is a great introduction to how the City works. It’s offered once per year and there are only 25 seats available.

Sept 6 – General Plan Advisory Committee (6:30, City Hall)

Let’s see what this new group can achieve. They are tasked with reviewing how we want the City to look in the next 25 years.

Sept 9 – Heroes Day (10 am, Heroes Park)

The City of Lake Forest is honoring local heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice by naming the ball fields at Heroes Park in their honor. Orange County Deputy Sheriff Brad Riches, Orange County Deputy Sheriff Darryn Robins, Army Specialist Justin Pollard, and Army Corporal Matthew Swanson will be honored. The fields will be renamed in their honor. The ceremonies will feature the OCSD Mounted Honor Guard, two OCSD helicopters and more.

Sept 10 – Get Safe Academy (6:00 to 7:30, City Hall)

Lake Forest Police Services will host a free and interactive GET SAFE Child Safety Academy designed to provide safety skills, training and awareness techniques to K-6 grade students. The academy will cover topics such as assertiveness training, avoiding common tricks and lures, bully prevention and self-defense.

Sept 12 – Back to School Night – SVUSD Elementary Schools (6 pm)

If you child or grandchild is in elementary school, this is the night to come by and see what’s happening.

Sept 18 – Lake 2 Women’s Club Wine and Cheese (6 pm, Lake 2)

The Lake 2 Women’s Club does great work supporting the nonprofits who support our residents. Come by and enjoy a great event.

Dr. Gardner has office hours every Tuesday from 4 pm to 6 pm at the City Hall. In addition, he holds a town hall meeting every quarter. The next meeting will be Oct 18 at 7 pm at the Lake 1 Clubhouse (Ridge Route).
