Father Dies In Head-On Crash, Family Seeks Aid In OC

The father of two was killed after he was involved in a head-on crash on Santiago Canyon Road.

SILVERADO, CA — An Orange County family is asking for help and prayers after a sudden tragedy led to the loss of father, brother and son Austin Crump.

"Austin was a son, brother and father of two beautiful sons," Emma Arlene Crump said. "He was taken in a tragic and sudden car accident Saturday night."

The crash was reported around 9 p.m. Saturday on Santiago Canyon Road, west of Limestone Spur Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both cars suffered extreme front end damage, and a 34-year-old La Habra man driving a 2018 Ford was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 42-year-old Santa Ana man driving a 1993 Toyota was found alive at the scene and moved to Orange County Global Medical Center, where he died.

"No one plans for a tragedy; we clearly did not expect something so brutal," Emma said. "We are putting together this GoFundMe to help us pay for his services and allow his boys to say goodbye to him."

Orange County residents can help support the Crump family by visiting and donating to the family's GoFundMe account, where $696 of a $18,000 goal had been raised as of Wednesday.
