Fire Reported In South OC Amid Windy Weather

IRVINE, CA — A fire was reported in Irvine late Tuesday morning, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.

The vehicle fire was reported near the brush at 8:32 a.m. near Bake Parkway and Lake Forest Drive.

"With the potential for the fire to spread into the vegetation on this windy day, we launched ground resources, OCFA helicopters and Quick Reaction Force helicopters," an OCFA spokesperson said. "The fire was quickly confined to the vehicle by ground units, with no extension to the brush."

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
