Firefighters Save Irvine Residents From House Fire, 2 Hospitalized

Orange County Fire Authority firefighters arrived to find trapped residents "sticking their heads out" of upstairs windows to avoid smoke.

IRVINE, CA — Orange County Fire Authority Firefighters saved two people from a house fire in the Parkcrest neighborhood of Irvine early Thursday morning, the agency reported over social media.

Shortly after 6:15 a.m., firefighters found a burning home on Shasta in the Parkcrest neighborhood. They discovered two people sticking their heads out of an upstairs window with smoke pouring from upstairs.

"Firefighters knocked down the fire and helped them walk downstairs and out of the home," they wrote.

Firefighters and on-scene paramedics treated and took both people to the hospital on complaints of smoke inhalation.

The scene is being investigated along with Irvine Police.
