Foothill Ranch Elementary PTA helps 124 foster kids with its first annual Holiday Heroes outreach program
FRE PTA's first annual Holiday Heroes donation drive helps 124 children in the Orange County foster care system.
The elves at Foothill Ranch Elementary School were busy this holiday season.
Through its new "Holiday Heroes" program launched by the school's PTA, the school community collected donations of food, toys and gifts to deliver to 124 children in the Orange County foster care system, making the holiday season brighter for the 71 families that care for them.
Teachers and PTA members collected gifts and food in each classroom. Then on Tuesday, Dec. 13, students and their parents filled the school's multipurpose room to sort and wrap presents. All the donations were presented to county social workers on Dec. 14.
