FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — Last week, southland officials spread the word that all residents should wear a mask over their nose and mouth when heading outside. That left many scrambling to come up with a solution that worked for them, as the surgical-style face coverings are few and far between.

Government officials that you refrain from wearing the coveted N95 masks that are slated for use by those who have tested positive for the new coronavirus and medical professionals. Patch put out the call last week to see what sort of masks you are wearing, or making and our readers answered, in force!

  • 2 Elastic Hairbands
  • 1 Bandanna / or 100-percent breathable fabric (t-shirt, etc.)
  • 1 Coffee Filter
  • Gloves

Note: This mask has not been vetted by medical professionals, but is acceptable for wearing out on your walks or for shopping trips.
