A Troy High School student called police about 10 p.m. Wednesday and reported that an unknown person began messaging the group of students during their chat, indicating "violence" against the school on Thursday, Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus told Patch.
"Police are working to identify who made the threat and whether it was viable," Radus said. Meanwhile, police had a large presence on campus Thursday, otherwise classes proceeded as usual.

As of late Thursday morning, investigators had not come across any evidence that would indicate the threat is credible, according to Radus, but police stressed that they and Fullerton Joint Union High School District officials were taking the threat seriously.
The student who called police was hailed as "courageous," and officials encourage anyone to call authorities whenever they see or hear something suspicious, Radus said.
Anyone who might know something about the threat was asked to call police at (714) 738-3156. Orange County Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips at (855) TIP-OCCS.
