Goose Fatally Struck By Arrow In South OC, Police Seek Information

The Egyptian goose died after being hit by a training arrow near an elementary school in Irvine, police said.

IRVINE, CA — An adult Egyptian goose died after being struck by a training arrow in Orange County, authorities said.

The injured goose was spotted on Thursday, Dec. 28 walking in the area of College Park Elementary School, 3700 Chaparral Avenue, in Irvine. Irvine Police Department Animal Services Officers immediately responded and retrieved the goose, who died on its way to receive medical treatment.

"Whoever did this could have gotten very close," Sgt. Karie Davie told The Orange County Register.

She added that the training arrow had likely come from a crossbow.
