Gorton Center To Preview Every Oscar-Nominated Short Film
You can see every animated and live action Oscar short during multiple showings Feb. 27.

From Gorton Community Center: Get the leg up on your Oscar pool this year with a preview of the Oscar Shorts on Tuesday, February 27 at the John & Nancy Hughes Theater at Gorton Community Center. There will be several showings throughout the day of shorts nominated in the animated and live action and categories.
The animated shorts will be shown at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and are a collection of the five nominees for the animated short films category at 2018’s Academy Awards. These films will be followed by three additional animated short films that also exemplify exceptional film making. The program lasts 83 minutes and includes the following titles: Dear Basketball, Garden Party, Lou, Negative Space, and Revolting Rhymes.
The live action nominees will be featured at 12:30 p.m and 7 p.m. and are a collection of the five nominees for the live action short films category of 2018’s Academy Awards. While these films are not rated, the subject matter may be graphic, violent, and presenting adult themes. The program lasts 99 minutes and includes the following titles: Dekalb Elementary, The Eleven O’Clock, My Nephew Emmett, The Silent Child, and Watu Wote/All of Us.

Tickets can be purchased for $6 per showing or a $10 pass that can get you showings for both the animated and live action shorts.
The Oscar Shorts are coming to Gorton as part of the community center’s commitment to offer robust cultural programming and compelling films in the 309-seat, state-of-the-art theater.
