A small but enthusiastic group enjoyed the musical program put on by The Silvertones, a Laguna Woods group that draws on their professional history of vocal and instrumental careers with the Big Bands of old to provide a variety of musical entertainment.
We were treated to a mixture of songs from WW II and Christmas music, much from the same era. The only thing missing was a dance floor. But most seemed content to tap their toes and strum their fingers, feet moving in memories of times when our joints were more limber.
Our next meeting will be January 16 (3rd Thursday of the month) with a presentation by Greg Raths. Greg will share with us some stories from his career as a Marine Fighter Pilot and may also tell us how and why he wrote his book, "9 Lives of a Fighter Pilot".
Guests may attend for a cost of $30 which includes a meal and the Program. Cocktails at 6:00, dinner at 7:00, and the Program at 7:45 PM. The venue is the Holiday Inn at Lake Forest. Address is 23131 Lake Center Drive (Rockfield and Lake Forest Drive).
Reservations can be made through Rick Karoly at rakaroly@cox.net .
