Hundreds Enjoy Lake Forest Science Heads Lunar Eclipse

On Sunday night, the Lake Forest Sports Park filled with fans of the STEM group "Science Heads" to view the Super Wolf Blood Moon.

LAKE FOREST, CA โ€” STEM kids and parents joined the popular science group "Science Heads, Inc." at the Lake Forest Sports Park, Sunday, to view the rare lunar eclipse up close and personal.

Astronomy Night ensures that plenty of telescopes were on hand for viewing the moon as it was blocked by the earth's shadow, causing the "red" effect.

The basketball courts of the Lake Forest Sports Park was elbow to elbow with stargazers for the event.

Volunteers showed kids how eclipses happen through a series of visual exercises, and others discussed the physics behind black holes and more.

Despite partly cloudy skies, hundreds were able to enjoy the evening, learning the science behind the lunar show.
