Irvine Man Charged With Murder in Wife's Strangulation
The 39-year-old man is accused of strangling his wife during an altercation in their Irvine apartment.

An Irvine man is accused of strangling his wife to death Monday evening in their Irvine apartment.
The District Attorney's office Wednesday charged Shalabh Rastogi, 39, with one felony count of murder.
According to the D.A., the 39-year-old was having marital trouble with his 40-year-old wife Jalina George, with whom he had three school-aged children.

At about 9:40 p.m. Monday, Rastogi allegedly strangled and murdered his wife Jalina George in a bedroom of their apartment. According to the D.A.'s office, he left his wife's body in the closet of their bedroom, then called police.
Officers with the Irvine Police Department arrested Rastogi at his home.

If convicted, Rastogi faces 25 years to life in state prison.
The couple's three children were not home at the time of their mother's killing and are now in protective custody, according to the D.A.'s office.
Rastogi was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Santa Ana.
