Irvine Ranked Best City To Raise A Family, Study Says
According to a recent WalletHub report, the best place to raise a family is located in south Orange County.
IRVINE, CA — One of the best places to raise a family in the U.S. is located in south Orange County, a recent WalletHub report said.
On Tuesday, WalletHub detailed some of the best and worst cities to raise a family in the country, with Irvine ranking in the top three following Overland Park, Kansas and Fremont, California.
The report compared more than 180 cities and factored in the cost of housing in the area and the quality of local schools, along with analysis of local healthcare systems in place.

Los Angeles found itself at the No. 85 spot, ranking below other California cities such as San Francisco and San Diego.
San Diego placed at No. 8 and San Francisco was ranked at No. 12. The Golden State had a total of four cities in the top 15.

According to the report, the worst place to raise a family is Memphis, Tennessee.
Irvine also ranked as the city with the 20th-lowest property crime rate per capita and the third lowest divorce rate in the country.
Irvine ranks tenth in the highest share of families with children under 18 years old, the report said.
