Lake Forest Among State's Fastest Growing Cities
As rush hour on the 5 can attest, Lake Forest is one of the fastest growing cities in the state with 3,000 more people calling it home.
LAKE FOREST, CA Lake Forest is one of the fastest growing cities in California, growing by a whopping 3.7 percent in the last year.
A new report released by the state Department of Finance places Lake Forest as the third fastest growing city in the California behind Porterville and Eastvale. The city's population grew by slightly more than 3,000 in 2015.
Neighboring Irvine also saw significant gains, growing by 6,650 people or 2.6 percent.

Orange County grew by 1 percent in 2015 for a total of 3,183,011 residents.
Los Angeles, the state's largest city grew by 1.3 percent in 2015, pushing the number of residents over the 4 million mark for the first time, the state Department of Finance reported.

The population of Los Angeles County was 10,241,335 on Jan. 1, up 0.8 percent from the same date in 2015.
The statewide growth rate was 0.9 percent last year, with an addition of 348,000 residents, bringing California's population to 39,256,000, according to the agency's data.
The Department of Finance reported that growth was evenly distributed around the state, with most cities and counties experiencing increases in population.
