Lake Forest City Council Celebrates 25th Anniversary
The Lake Forest City Council took a moment in their Dec. 20 meeting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their city.

LAKE FOREST, CA ā Did you know your city just had a birthday? Residents shared in the joy and celebration as the City of Lake Forest celebrated their 25th anniversary at the Dec. 20 City Council meeting.
"On December 20, 1991 the City of Lake Forest was incorporated and began independently providing services to the community," City Clerk Stephanie Smith said. Formerly known as El Toro, this city has seen dramatic changes since the homestead days of the late 1860s.
The City Council meeting on Dec. 20 paused to mark the 25th Anniversary of Cityhood.

"We celebrated this milestone with a recital of the City song, 'My Beautiful City,' by the El Toro High School Choralistics, as well as a 25-year historical slide show," she said.

There were also event cookies and a presentation of 25th Anniversary commemorative items to past and present City Council members, according to Smith.
At the meeting, the city council also continued their contract with with Jamey Clark Inc. to keep up with necessary repairs at city parks and facilities, as well as approved an employment agreement designating Debra Rose as the City's interim City Manager
"Lake Forest has faced and embraced many challenges in its history," they said in their video. "We take on the challenges of the future so we can continue to make Lake Forest a great place to be for generations to come."
